Star Sports Review & Free Bet

If you are familiar with online betting then I’m sure you would have heard about Star Sports, being one of the more popular sports betting sites. If you are the type of person who likes to try out gambling on a variety of different sports, then I do suggest having a look on Star Sports. The British based company which was founded in 1999 has a variety of most sports available to choose from. Some of which include, football, basketball, horseracing and darts. Unfortunately, Star Sports are yet to develop an app for Android or IOS devices however they do have a well developed website which users can access to place their bets.

 Website Layout:

Star Sports have used a basic layout with their website. Firstly, a simple site is easy to use, and this is the case with Star Sports as all the main content which is needed is displayed on one page. All the sports that are available to bet on are placed on the left side of the page in rows. Once the user clicks on their selected sport, all the live scores and results are shown, as well as the most popular odds available. On the right side, there is the option for users to ‘create an account’ or ‘sign in’ and this is highlighted in a yellow font, so it is easy to spot for the user.

Star Sports have gone with a colour scheme of grey and dark blue which does come across as a bit ‘dull’ and ‘dated’, however on the right side there is the bright yellow tabs as I mentioned earlier, and also promotions for ‘£50 Free Bet’ in a bright turquoise box. The colour choice is not a necessarily a big issue but it is not eye catching and compared to other betting websites it could come across a bit boring.

 Markets:

Star Sports deserve credit, their market is a very broad, and all rounded sports fans will enjoy using Star Sports as they have managed to include pretty much every sport and a few others available to gamble on. These include, Football, Horse Racing, Badminton, Baseball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Formula One, Golf, Greyhound Racing, Ice Hockey, Motor Sport, Rugby, Tennis, Table tennis and even Politics/Television.

Welcome Bonus:

Users who sign up to create a new account with Star Sports can take advantage of the welcome bonus that is offered to them. Star Sports offer different bonuses on different sports, rather than just crediting the account or giving free bets like some other companies do. Instead, they have a £50 free bet on accounts with £10 for Greyhound races and £25 free bets for Horse racing. Star Sports aren’t particularly renowned for their bonuses but when there is a key event on then they do promote their bonuses available to users via their website and social media platforms.

In Play Betting:

By clicking on the ‘in play’ tab on the left side of the page, you will be taken to the options of in play betting that are available. Once on this page, all the in play games and events that are shown on that day will be displayed and you will have the option to select your chosen ones. On the middle left side, it will show which event is on and on the right side, the odds are displayed. The in play is extremely easy to navigate and use.

Payment Methods/Client Support:

Paying on Star Sports is easy and simple so keeping up to date with your account should not be an issue. All the well known and popular methods are accepted. These include, MasterCard, Visa Debit, Visa Electron and Maestro. You can also use E-wallets which have become increasingly popular and is far more efficient when it comes to withdrawing funds from your bank account. Star Sports state that withdrawals usually take between two and five days. In terms of help and support for clients, Star Sports are available to email 24/7 and can be contacted via online chat 24/7 too, whilst their phoneline is always open except Christmas Day. (United Kingdom)

Verdict:

Overall, I feel that Star Sports is a fairly good sportsbook. Although not the best compared to their competitors, they do have some good factors such as the amount of sports available to choose from. On the other hand, there is some serious negatives. Firstly, I feel the company is a bit stuck in time, this is because of the basic website, dull choice of colour and even the layout which is too simple in my opinion. The lack of offers and welcome bonuses was another shock as I would have completely expected more from a sports betting company, having viewed other sportbooks. Another reason that I am not entirely impressed with Star Sports is because they do not have an online app. In 2019, social media is what is making the world move forward and it is essential to have the basics so for a betting company not to have developed their own app when pretty much all fellow competitors have is truly beyond me and I feel it should be sorted out. The majority of younger clients always are on their phones and therefore would prefer using an app as it is easy access, convenient and quick.  So, to finish off, I would say that if you are a fan of multiple sports and want to use one platform to bet on multiple sports and events then Star Sports would be a perfect option but if not then there is defientley better competitors who can offer much more advantages and convenience.
