Carabao Cup Betting Offers, Predictions, Odds and Where to watch

Carabao Cup

The English League Cup has reached the quarter-final stage and this week, after the final two games have taken place on Wednesday night, we will know the four semi-finalists. The way the draw has been made, we have four big clubs all taking on smaller clubs, including one Championship club Bristol City, who take on Manchester United.

Many people will be predicting that the top clubs all make the semi-finals, and if they do then we should have two fantastic games to look forward to. However, as is always the case with one-off cup games, anything can happen and the four opponents will all be looking to land cup upsets and make the semi-finals themselves, putting them just two games away from reaching Wembley.

With two games on TV over the week, those who enjoy watching football at home will have plenty to watch and the game between Bristol City and Manchester United is expected to receive the most interest. The Championship club are having a great season, they are currently in third place and playing some very attractive, attacking football. This is a huge challenge for them, but one they will be up for and who knows what can happen on a cold December night. Manchester United are expected to rest a few players and should they do that, the two clubs would be a lot more closely matched.

With four great games, two on television and plenty of betting opportunities, this looks to be another great week of action for English football fans up and down the country.

Our Predictions

Bristol City vs Manchester United – Manchester United win

What Games are on TV?

Leicester vs Manchester City – Tuesday 19:45, Sky Sports Football & Sky Sports Main Event

It will be very interesting to see what kind of team Manchester City put out for this game, I expect to see them rest quite a few players with the busy Christmas period coming up. They are unbeaten in the league so far, they look to be coasting to the league title and will want their focus on protecting their record over the next few league games. That gives Leicester a small chance, assuming that Leicester go all out with a full strength team to try and win this one.

The one problem that Leicester will face is that Manchester City are on a real high, and they have a number of squad players who will get into many other Premier League teams. Those players are hungry to get a chance in the first team and this game could provide them with that if it does then expect to see a good showing from them. The culture that City have created has given them the luxury of having many quality players waiting in the wings for their chance.

With that in mind, even if City do opt to rest a few of their stars with one eye on the upcoming league games then I still think they have enough to control this game and win it comfortably. They are a joy to watch this season, and the players who do play will all have a point to prove, which should spur them on to perform well and beat Leicester to make the semi-finals.

Bristol City vs Manchester United – Wednesday 20:00, Sky Sports Football & Sky Sports Main Event

The one and only Championship team remaining in the competition are Bristol City and they will be looking to be giant killers when they play at home against Manchester United. It will come as no surprise to see United rest a few players for this game, whereas Bristol City will be taking it very seriously and play their best possible eleven.

However, having said that, even with them resting some players, Jose Mourinho’s men should still have enough to beat Bristol City, despite their opponents having a very good season. Bristol are currently third in the Championship, they are playing some very nice football and have scored the fourth most goals in the Championship. With this in mind, and with them being at home, I expect to see them really come out and attack Manchester United, which should set up a fantastic game between these two.

While Bristol City will certainly give it everything they have, and they are a danger to Manchester United, ultimately the Premier League outfit should have too much in the locker. Even if United do rest a handful of stars, they have enough in their squad to take care of Bristol City. Expect to see a wide-open attacking game, and hopefully plenty of goals, but ultimately Manchester United should win this one.

Betting Odds

All odds are correct at the time of writing.

The four-team accumulator on all four of the big clubs to win this week is going to be extremely popular with punters, all four look to have rock solid claims. Should all four win then this will be a huge week for punters, just before Christmas, giving them funds for the last few presents, or building up a nice betting bank ahead of the busy festive period, where many different great sporting events take place.

The four clubs are available at the best prices shown below:

Arsenal 4/7

Manchester City 1/2

Chelsea 1/3

Manchester United 4/11

Those four names are going to appear on a lot of bets this week, and together they would bring a nice return.

For those looking for value elsewhere, Bristol City are best priced at 9/1 to beat Manchester United in the live televised game on Wednesday. The Championship club looks sure to attack United and it will be an interesting game to watch. While United should be too strong for them, the 9/1 available on the underdogs is sure to be popular with those watching on Wednesday for interest who are not Manchester United fans.

If you think Leicester can be the first English club to beat Manchester City this season then they can be backed at 13/2 to record that victory and make the semi-finals. While many think City will be too strong for Leicester, that price will appeal to those settling down to watch the live televised game on Tuesday night. Leicester are not arriving in the best of form, but facing a potentially weakened City team, some people will think they have a chance.

The remaining two underdogs travel to London for what looks like being extremely tricky evenings for them. On Tuesday night you can back West Ham at the best price of 6/1 to upset Arsenal. We all know the history of Arsenal and the League Cup, they often play many youngsters, and with West Ham hitting form a little, some people may fancy that punt on Tuesday.

The final game of the week is on Wednesday and Bournemouth look to have an uphill task when they travel to Chelsea. You can back the south coast club at a huge 11/1 if you think they can go to Chelsea and win this one. It looks like being a tough evening for them, but that is reflected in the price and should you back them to win, you will receive a nice payment back from the bookmakers if they manage to pull it off.
